Chad Bui suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in January of 2019 and has been working with our specialist Nathan Smeester since.
Nathan works with Chad on regaining control of his left arm, maintaining balance and building strength. In the last two months, he has begun to walk more independently!
Chad has made incredible progress since starting with us, and he continues to work hard to get his foot released and get even stronger.

Stroke is a leading cause of disability in the United States with over 4.5 million stroke survivors alive today. Although strokes happen within the brain, they can affect the entire body. They can affect how an individual sits, moves, balances, stands, and walks.
Rehabilitation can help build strength, capability, and confidence so a person can become as independent as possible! The goal is to improve function below the level of injury. If you know someone who has been affected by a stroke, Project Walk Houston offers activity-based programs to help improve mobility. Each program is crafted by our experienced Recovery Specialists to meet the individual's needs.
Our programs can help:
Increase muscle mass
Increase the central nervous system activity
Increase health and well-being
Increase sensations including hot, cold, pain, and touch
Increase occupational skills
Decrease pain
