Cerebral Palsy
Initial signs of cerebral palsy are typically identified in infancy or early childhood but are permanent with no current cure.
The three main types of cerebral palsy are:
-
Spastic cerebral palsy
-
Dyskinetic cerebral palsy
-
Ataxic cerebral palsy
Due to damage to one or more parts of the brain that control movement, an affected person cannot move his or her muscles normally. Symptoms range from mild to severe, including forms of paralysis, and appear in early childhood.
